My name is Mary Alice Felder.  I am originally from Moreland, GA, a small town about 40 miles south of Atlanta.  I moved to Nashville in 1996 to attend college.  In 1999, I experienced my first massage while on a cruise ship, and was fascinated by what I felt in my body.  I went on to finish college and begin a career in the music industry. 

Meanwhile, my interest in alternative therapies and natural healing continued to grow.  I found myself reading everything I could get my hands on about the benefits of massage and different massage therapy modalities.  In 2003 I started researching massage schools in the area, and began to formally study massage in January 2004. 

As I was finishing massage school, a couple of students recommended that I check out a continuing education class that was being offered called Connective Tissue Massage taught by John Latz.  I took their advice (I’m always up for a good recommendation), but little did I know that taking this class would change the course of my life.  Learning Connective Tissue Massage revolutionized the way that I thought about and worked with the body, as well as how I used my body to work.  I based my whole massage practice on the principles of this work, and began to experience incredible results with my clients.  That wasn’t enough for me though....nope…..I wanted to know more! 

In January 2006, I began training in Structural Integration at The Institute For Structural Integration in Miami, FL.  I can honestly say that this training has been the most challenging, yet the most rewarding thing I have ever done.  I have gone through a huge amount of personal growth through the process of receiving this work.  As I continue to grow, change and learn, the work that I am available to give as a practitioner evolves as well.

Today I am a third year apprentice to John Latz.  I am now an assistant instructor in the Connective Tissue Massage classes that served as my original gateway into this work.
